We’ve been working on a huge project in Doncaster, converting a 3-bedroom semi-detached house into a 5-bedroom HMO (House in Multiple Occupation), featuring a brand-new extension to the property which has become the lounge area. Each bedroom has its own ensuite, and the entire property has been rewired to HMO specifications, with a brand-new gas boiler installed for good measure.
In part two of our deep-dive into this huge project, we’ll show you how we went about building the extension, knocking through walls and doorways, putting up new stud walls and re-wiring the whole property.
As the photos show, a new extension to the rear of the property was erected, which would ultimately become the new living area. We plaster-boarded the whole house and plastered all walls and ceilings. The first fix for plumbing and electrics was carried out.
